on

Pharm Exec published on May 2010 the ranking of the 50 largest pharmaceutical world groups by global sales of prescription drug products. Over the Counter products were not considered on this study.

2009 mergers cause the disappearance of some laboratories from the previous list. Wyeth, previously number 10 on 2009, is now part of Pfizer, number 1; Schering-Plough, number 15 on 2009, merged with Merck, producing a company which will probably rank to number 4 on 2011; Genetech (19) was acquired by Roche; Warner-Chilcott which was not present in this list will climb to the middle of the list on 2011.
